Stucky Motors Expands FAW Truck Support Along South Africa’s Busy Freight Corridors

The expansion of truck dealership networks along South Africa’s busiest freight routes continues to play a major role in reducing downtime for operators, especially on high-pressure corridors such as the N3 and N4. One of the latest developments comes from FAW Trucks Southern Africa and its long-standing dealer partner, Stucky Motors Group, which has steadily increased its footprint in key trucking hubs.

Founded in 1965 in Volksrust, Stucky Motors Group has grown from a family-run business into one of the more recognised automotive dealer groups operating along South Africa’s major transport routes. The company entered the FAW truck network in 2023 when it opened its first FAW dealership in Newcastle.

Since then, the group has expanded rapidly and now operates seven FAW dealerships across strategic trucking regions. Recent additions include new facilities in Harrismith and Kingsmead, strengthening support coverage for operators travelling between KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng, Mpumalanga and neighbouring provinces.

The opening of the Harrismith dealership is expected to improve support coverage along the N3 corridor, one of the busiest freight routes in the country. Truck operators travelling between Newcastle and Pietermaritzburg now have access to FAW sales, servicing and parts support points positioned roughly two hours apart, helping reduce delays when breakdowns or maintenance issues occur on route.

According to the companies, the dealerships provide full 3S facilities, including truck sales, parts supply and workshop services. Several branches also cater for long-haul drivers with truck parking space, trailer-friendly yards and rest areas for drivers waiting on repairs or service work.

Speaking on the partnership, Xin Huang said Stucky Motors’ positioning along major freight corridors has strengthened support for FAW customers operating across South Africa.

The continued expansion of dealer and workshop infrastructure comes at a time when transport operators are under pressure to maximise uptime, cut delays and keep trucks moving efficiently on long-distance routes.
