There was chaos on Andrew street in Mbombela on Tuesday afternoon after a truck collided with two vehicles, lost control and landed inside a shop.
The truck collided with a taxi and a bakkie which were travelling in the opposite direction.
Paramedics confirmed that a young child who was a passenger in the taxi sustained serious injuries and was transported to Rob Ferreira Hospital.
Noone from the bakkie was injured and the trucker himself was not injured.
According to paramedics on the scene, there were no confirmed fatalities.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
