Three Major Truck Crashes Throw N10 into Chaos Early Tuesday

The N10 has turned into a war zone this Tuesday morning with three serious truck crashes hammering traffic across the Eastern Cape and Northern Cape stretch.

What started as two separate incidents at Daggaboersnek and Cookhouse has now been compounded by another crash near Hanover, sending delays through the roof and putting pressure on emergency services.

The first smash unfolded at Daggaboersnek where two trucks collided head-on in the early hours. The wreckage left the roadway littered with debris, blocking movement completely as responders fought to clear space. Traffic stacked up fast with drivers stuck for long periods waiting for a safe lane to open.

Moments after that, a second crash was reported at Cookhouse, where a side tipper interlink ploughed into the back of a stationary truck. The impact jack-knifed trailers across the road, adding to the chaos already unfolding up the route.

Just when everyone thought it could not get any worse, a third major crash was reported near Hanover, where another side tipper truck reportedly left the roadway.

Sources say the driver failed to negotiate a curve, causing the rig to veer off and crash into an embankment. The truck sustained heavy damage and emergency crews are currently working on scene to stabilise the situation.

Across all three incidents, no fatalities have been confirmed at this stage, but the conditions of the drivers involved have not yet been released. Paramedics are still assessing injuries at the scenes.

The N10 is severely backed up, and authorities are urging motorists to approach with extreme caution and expect heavy delays. All three zones remain active recovery sites and traffic control teams are stretched thin.

If you’re driving through that side today, keep your eyes up, sit tight and avoid risky moves. The road is unforgiving right now, and nobody wants crash number four.
