Three Trucks Torched in Bizarre Attack on R34 Outside Melmoth

Three trucks were set alight in a strange and disturbing attack on the R34/R66 route between Ulundi and Melmoth last night.

The incident, which has left the trucking community shaken, occurred under mysterious circumstances just after dark.

According to the drivers, they were approached by two armed suspects while they were parked on the side of the road.

The suspects allegedly questioned the drivers about their cargo.

Upon learning that all three trucks were empty, the situation took a bizarre turn.

“It’s like they got angry that the trucks had nothing inside,” a source told SA Trucker.

The suspects reportedly commanded the drivers to move away from the trucks before setting them alight.

The suspects didn’t take a single thing from the drivers – not even their wallets or phones.

No injuries were reported, and all drivers managed to escape unharmed.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear, especially since no theft occurred and the vehicles were not hijacked, only destroyed.

Black Tar Towing was on the scene early this morning and recovered the charred remains of the trucks.

Photos shared with SA Trucker show nothing but burned-out shells.
