Traffic Alert: N2 road closure over the weekend in Durban 20190822 214726

Durban – The South African National Roads Agency SOC Ltd (SANRAL) has notified motorists that a complete road closure is scheduled to take place on the N2, Section 25 on 24 and 25 August between 5pm and 5am.

The closure is necessary to remove the Eendrag pedestrian bridge on the N2/25.

Traffic will be diverted as follows: (In consultation with RTI and Durban Metro Traffic)

  1. N2 North bound traffic will be diverted onto the M1 Eastbound towards the R102 at the Higginson Highway interchange, North towards the M7 on the R102 and west towards the N2 on the M7.
  2. N2 South bound traffic will be diverted onto the M7 Eastbound towards the R102 at the Edwin Swales interchange, South towards the M1 on the R102 and west towards the N2 on the M1.
  3. All detour routes will be clearly demarcated by the applicable and relevant signage and all critical high traffic areas will be manned by trained and accredited flagmen for the public motorist.

According to a press statement released by SANRAL on Wednesday, the closure may need to be adjusted depending on weather conditions on the day.
