Traffic Officer Shot Dead at N2 Groutville Off-Ramp in Stanger

A traffic police officer was tragically shot and killed while on duty on Monday morning at the N2 Groutville off-ramp.

IPSS Medical Rescue responded swiftly, but, unfortunately, the officer was declared dead at the scene.

IPSS Medical Rescue spokesperson Samantha Meyrick confirmed the news, expressing heartfelt condolences to the officer’s family, friends, and colleagues.

“As fellow first responders, we thank you for your service and ultimate sacrifice for your community,” Meyrick stated.

The circumstances leading to the shooting remain under investigation, and police have cordoned off the N2 Southbound off-ramp and Groutville bridge to thoroughly examine the area.

Motorists are urged to use alternative routes as this remains an active crime scene.
