Truck and car crash on Van Reneens Pass leave one dead

A motorist has been killed after his car collided with a truck on the N3 freeway at Van Reneens Pass on Tuesday morning, 19 January.

It is alleged that a truck travelling southbound lost control on the pass and veered onto the oncoming lane and collided with a car going the opposite direction.

According to paramedics, one person was killed in the accident.

Officials and Van Reenens Pass Police are currently on scene to ensure that recovery is being done and motorists travelling along the route have been asked to be cautious.

The deceased has not been officially identified and Van Reenen SAPS will be investigating a case of culpable homicide.
