Truck and minibus crash leaves seven dead on N1, Modimolle

At least seven people have been killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a minibus taxi on N1 at Leeurantjies, Modimolle next to High accident Zone.

The accident happened during the early hours of the morning on Thursday.

Limpopo Traffic police spokesperson Matome Moremi Tauyatshwala says ‘At this point in time we can confirm there are fatalities which are more than five but the forensic pathology teams are yet to confirm the actual number.’

Tauyatshwala adds that the road has been completely closed for the clearing of the scene.

Motorists traveling from Kranskop must off ramp at Modimolle to use R101 and those traveling from Mookgophong /Mokopane must also use R101 to avoid delays.
