A truck carrying sulphuric acid has lost control and overturned on the N2 Godlwayo area next to the DSD center in Pongola.
uPhongolo Disaster team and Law enforcement are on the scene and have warned motorist to drive with caution as one lane has been closed.
Sulphuric acid is a corrosive chemical which can be very dangerous and harmful to people and animals if inhaled, gets in contact with the skin or swallowed, therefore the public is urged to stay as far away from the area and avoid touching the chemical.
Disaster team is working tirelessly to get the area cleansed of the chemical.
Please avoid being in contact with this chemical.
