Truck Crashes into Construction Workers on N3 Southbound at Town Hill

Several construction workers were injured after a truck crashed into them on the N3 Durbanbound at Town Hill in Pietermaritzburg on Friday morning.

Midlands EMS spokesperson Roland Robertson said that by 10:30 am, crews were still at the scene of a serious motor vehicle accident on the N3 southbound at Town Hill.

Robertson said that a truck crashed into a group of construction workers, resulting in multiple injuries.

“Emergency services, including advanced life support paramedics, are treating several patients on the scene. Some of the injured are currently entrapped and require specialized rescue operations to free them.

“Crews are working tirelessly to stabilize the patients before transporting them to nearby medical facilities,” said Robertson.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible, as the scene remains active with emergency personnel, and heavy delays are expected.

Authorities are also on-site to investigate the cause of the accident and manage traffic.
