A truck driver has tragically lost his life after losing control of his vehicle and crashing into the roadside embankment on the N2 near the Amatikulu River in Gingindlovu.
IPSS Medical and Rescue spokesperson, Tereza van den Berg, confirmed that emergency responders arrived at the scene to find the single side-tipper truck completely wrecked. “The cab was totally squashed, and unfortunately, the driver did not survive the crash,” said van den Berg.
The cause of the crash remains unclear, and authorities are investigating how the driver lost control. At the time of the accident, the driver was travelling alone.
Van den Berg urged motorists to remain cautious when travelling through the area as officials work to clear the wreckage and determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
