Witbank – The driver behind the wheel of a truck that collided with a train at a railway crossing in Witbank has succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
According to Witbank News, the driver died a day after the horrific accident which happened on Tuesday morning.
He was taken to hospital in a critical state immediately after the crash.
The road was closed for several hours after the train and truck collision.
A group of residents had a candle-light ceremony in remembrance of the truck driver.
Mr Aubrey Mtsweni, a community leader said; “they had seen enough bloodshed on the rails. We want PRASSA and the municipality to come to the table with solutions for this huge problem.”
