A truck driver has tragically lost his life following a horror crash on the N11 between Dannhauser and Ladysmith in northern KwaZulu-Natal on Sunday night.
Emergency responders were called to the scene just after 22h46, where they found a large truck overturned and lying on its roof on the side of the road. According to paramedics, the driver was found unresponsive in the wreckage.
“Despite efforts to assess and assist the driver, he showed no signs of life and was sadly declared deceased at the scene,” said a paramedic who attended to the incident.
Initial information suggests that the driver lost control of the vehicle before veering off the road and overturning. The cause of the crash remains unclear at this stage and is under investigation by the relevant authorities.

Traffic on the route was temporarily affected while emergency services worked on the scene. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
