A truck driver died and another person was critically injured when two cars and a truck collided in Boksburg on Thursday night.

Following the collision, the truck left the road and crashed into a boundary wall and caught fire trapping the driver inside.

Reports from the scene indicate that two cars and a truck were involved in a collision.

“When medics assessed the scene they found the truck had gone through a boundary wall and was well alight. One person from the vehicle had sustained fatal injuries and was sadly declared deceased on the scene,” said Herbst.

Another patient had sustained serious injuries and was treated on scene by Advanced Life Support paramedics while two other patients sustained moderate injuries.

Once stabilised all the patients were transported by ambulance to the hospital for further treatment.
