Reports from the scene indicate that two cars and a truck were involved in a collision.

“When medics assessed the scene they found the truck had gone through a boundary wall and was well alight. One person from the vehicle had sustained fatal injuries and was sadly declared deceased on the scene,” said Herbst.

Another patient had sustained serious injuries and was treated on scene by Advanced Life Support paramedics while two other patients sustained moderate injuries.

Once stabilised all the patients were transported by ambulance to the hospital for further treatment.

Another truck driver died on Wednesday morning after he was ejected from his truck during a crash on N1 at Midrand.
