Truck Driver Killed in Queue-Jumping Tragedy at Rustenburg Mine

A truck driver tragically lost his life on Friday after being struck and run over by another truck at *RNBC Mine’s truck staging area near Rustenburg in North West Province.

The incident occurred as trucks queued to load at the mine.

According to a witness at the scene, the victim was following the queue when another truck driver attempted to jump the line.

The victim reportedly exited his truck to confront the queue jumper but began returning to his vehicle after realizing the futility of stopping the truck.

As the queue jumper manoeuvred past, the truck passed too close to the victim’s stationary vehicle.

Unaware that the victim was outside his truck, the other driver allegedly struck him, and the trailer wheels tragically ran over the victim.

The victim died at the scene.

Winburg Transport, the employer of the deceased driver, confirmed the incident to SA Trucker.

The Mine could not be immediately contacted for comment at the time of publication. Their response will be included once it becomes available.
