A tragic incident unfolded on Monday night when a driver from Siyathembisa Transport was stabbed to death during a robbery in Bronkhorstspruit.
The driver, who had been with the company for just over a week, was attacked while parked at the Shell garage along the R104 highway.
According to a colleague, the two drivers had been on their way from Grootvlei to load at a nearby mine.
They stopped at the garage to grab a bite to eat. “I went on to buy something, leaving him after he said he didn’t want anything,” the colleague recounted.
