Truck driver, two assistants killed in Allen’s Nek pass accident

A truck driver and his two assistants were killed after their truck crashed along Christiaan de Wet road at Allen’s Nek Pass, Roodeport, on Monday morning.

The truck was travelling downhill when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle.

As the truck bellowed down the dangerous pass it lost its load before crashing into the rocks.

All three occupants of the truck were killed on impact.

The accident happened at the notoriously narrow Allen’s Nek pass between Clearwater Mall and Wilgerood Road.

Only one vehicle was involved in the collision, and none of the occupants survived the accident.

Emer-G-Med’s Alett Reed said, “Unfortunately the driver and his two passengers were all killed in the accident. The cabin was crushed on impact and sadly all three were declared dead at the scene.”
