Clarification has emerged regarding the brutal attack on a Zambian truck driver in Bayhead, Durban, in the early hours of Friday morning.
Initial reports circulating on social media alleged that the driver had been raped during the robbery. However, further investigation and eyewitness accounts have refuted these claims.
The incident, which occurred around 03h00 on Bremen Road, saw four armed suspects ambush the trucker while he was sleeping.
At gunpoint, they forced him to open his truck and stole his valuables. It is alleged that the suspects stabbed him in the thigh to force him to surrender everything he had.

The stabbing occurred while he was sitting, causing blood to stain his pants.
A video recorded at the scene showed the victim in bloodied pants, leading to widespread speculation that he had been raped.
The narrator in the video also mentioned that the victim had been sexually assaulted.
However, SA Trucker has since interviewed security guards and other witnesses in the area who confirmed that the driver was not sexually assaulted but had been stabbed between his thighs during the attack.
Truckers are urged to remain cautious, park in secure areas where possible, and report suspicious activity to law enforcement. Anyone with information about the attack is encouraged to contact the South African Police Service (SAPS) or Crime Stop at 08600 10111.
