MORGENZON-AMERSFOORT – An articulated truck was engulfed in flames on the R35 route, approximately 15 kilometres between Morgenzon and Amersfoort, Monday afternoon, April 21.
Emergency services responded swiftly to the fire, which was reported as a priority one incident. Firefighters arrived on scene and began working to extinguish the blaze and secure the area.
The cause of the fire remains unknown at this stage, and authorities have not confirmed whether any other vehicles were involved.
Motorists travelling along the R35 between Standerton and Ermelo are urged to proceed with extreme caution. Thick smoke from the burning truck may affect visibility and create hazardous driving conditions.
Authorities have advised drivers to reduce speed and remain alert as emergency personnel continue to manage the scene.
