A serious truck crash has brought traffic to a standstill on the N3 westbound towards Pietermaritzburg near the Cliffdale Bridge this morning.
Initial reports indicate that a truck has rolled and gone over the edge of the freeway.
The N3 PMB-bound carriageway is currently closed, with motorists reportedly being stopped from proceeding through the affected section.
ALS Paramedics are on scene responding to the crash.
The circumstances surrounding the crash, including whether anyone has been injured, are not yet known.
Motorists travelling towards Pietermaritzburg are urged to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible.
