A hijacker landed behind bars after his attempt to hijack a truck was foiled by a sharp and fearless truck driver in Brits.
The hijacker, using a well-known scam, posed as a guide to direct the driver to a pickup point.
However, things took a dramatic turn when the trucker, aware of the rising trend of hijackings in the area, decided he wasn’t going down without a fight.
This method has been used to target unsuspecting truckers in Brits, where criminals hire a transporter, then instruct the driver to pick up an someone who will lead them to the loading point.
Instead, the so-called guide diverts the truck to a quiet spot, pulls out a firearm, and hijacks the vehicle. The criminals quickly remove the tracker, making it almost impossible to recover the truck.
Several trucking companies have already fallen victim to this scheme, but today, the criminals picked the wrong driver.

The trucker fought back and overpowered the hijacker before alerting the police.
By the time officers arrived, the suspect had received a serious beating and was swiftly arrested.
Police are now investigating whether this hijacker is linked to other similar incidents in the area.
Truckers are urged to remain vigilant and verify all pickup instructions to avoid falling prey to such scams.
