The Durban trucking community is reeling after the sudden and tragic death of a truck driver at his workplace in Clairwood on Wednesday morning.
According to reports, the driver had just reported for duty as usual when he suddenly fell ill and began vomiting blood.
His colleagues immediately called for an ambulance, but sadly, by the time paramedics arrived, he had already passed away.
The exact cause of death is still unknown and will be confirmed following a post-mortem.
“He looked fine when he arrived. We even greeted him like we always do, next thing someone shouted that he was throwing up blood,” said one visibly shaken colleague who asked not to be named.
Another co-worker added, “We see a lot of things on the road, but nothing prepares you for seeing one of your own go just like that. It’s scary.”
