Trucking Company Owner, Shailen Singh, Gunned Down in Durban

Durban – Shailen Singh, the owner of Shail Trans, a trucking company in Phoenix was brutally gunned down on Sunday, 29 December 2024, in what appears to be a targeted hit on Meridian Drive, near Umhlanga Rocks Drive, north of Durban.

Durban North SAPS and emergency services responded swiftly to the scene after reports of a shooting. On arrival, officers discovered Singh slumped in the driver’s seat of his bakkie, riddled with multiple gunshot wounds.

Paramedics declared the businessman dead on the scene, with no chance of resuscitation.

Witnesses reported seeing two vehicles, a black BMW X5 and a black Ford Ranger, fleeing the area immediately after the shooting.

The motive for the murder remains unknown at this stage, and police investigations are underway.

KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Col Robert Netshiunda sidd that a murder docket has been opened and appealed to the public for assistance in solving the case.
