Panic swept through Inca Drive in Everest Heights earlier today when a crane truck rolled across the road and crashed straight into a home, injuring two women who were relaxing in the lounge.

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) confirmed that their Operations Centre received a flood of emergency calls from frantic residents shortly after the incident occurred. Responding officers and medics were dispatched immediately, arriving on scene at 11:17.

By the time help arrived, neighbours had already managed to free the trapped victims from the wreckage. A 65-year-old homeowner sustained a head injury, while her 36-year-old domestic worker suffered trauma to her right foot.

According to RUSA, the truck was unmanned at the time and rolled into the house from across the road. The sheer force of the impact sent debris flying, hitting both women as they sat inside.

It’s not known how the truck ended up rolling on itself.
