Two people have been killed after two trucks collided head-on on the N3 south just after the Howick South/Underberg interchange.
Reports from the scene indicate that a truck that was travelling north towards Johannesburg lost control and veered onto the path of the other truck travelling south.
The two trucks caught fire on impact.
The accident reportedly happened around 04h20 on Friday morning.
It could not be immediately ascertained if the deceased are the drivers of the trucks or not.

Trucks are currently stacked on the scene while cars are being diverted at R103.
Authorities have warned motorists to avoid the area as mop-up operations continue.
