Two people were injured when two trucks collided in Rustenburg on the N4 near the Waterfall Mall offramp on Tuesday afternoon.
The crash happened shortly after midday when one of the trucks lost control and veered off the highway, ending up in a nearby shopping centre complex. The second truck came to a halt on the N4, blocking traffic and causing major delays in both directions.
Rustenburg First Responders, together with Trauma Rescue EMS and JustMed24 EMS, rushed to the scene. Two people were treated for injuries before being taken to hospital for further care.
The Fire Department and Traffic Services were also on-site to handle a diesel spill and redirect traffic while recovery teams worked to clear the wreckage.
By late afternoon, cleanup crews were still busy at the scene, with authorities urging motorists to approach the area with caution.
The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
