A tragic accident involving a South African National Defence Force (SANDF) truck claimed the lives of two soldiers and left 17 others injured on Friday, 7 February 2025.
The crash occurred on the R31 at Danielskuil which is between Middelpos and Koopmansfontein after the driver of a Samil 50 military truck allegedly lost control, causing the vehicle to roll.
According to preliminary reports, rainy weather conditions may have played a role in the accident.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and confirmed that two soldiers had succumbed to their injuries.

Seventeen others sustained serious injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals for urgent medical attention.
