A truck driver tragically lost his life on Saturday afternoon after losing control of his vehicle and overturning on the N3 southbound at Town Hill, just past the Peter Brown Bridge.
Midlands EMS spokesperson, Roland Robertson, confirmed that emergency responders arrived to find the driver severely entrapped in the cab of the overturned truck.
“On arrival, crews found the driver severely entrapped, and unfortunately, he showed no signs of life. He was declared deceased on the scene,” said Robertson.
The exact cause of the accident remains under investigation. Authorities are still on-site managing the scene, which has caused significant disruptions to traffic in the area.
