Thousands of schoolchildren have been affected in the volatile Vuwani area after 23 schools were set alight with 19 burnt to the ground.
Ramabulana said he had agreed with government officials to visit the affected schools.
He said the situation at Vuwani needed President Jacob Zuma’s attention and traditional leaders were ready to talk to him.
“This is a political problem it needs a political solution. We are trying to get the attention of the president,” he said.
By Friday evening Vuwani was calm.
Police said 15 people had been arrested.
