VR Cargo driver dies after being struck by a car at N4 Dry Port exit

A VR Cargo truck driver has died after he was struck by a white Toyota Land Cruiser at the Dry Port exit onto the N4 in Komatipoort.

According to initial information received by SA Trucker, the driver was outside his truck and on foot when he was struck by the Land Cruiser.

The impact reportedly killed the driver at the scene.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet clear. It has not been established why the driver was walking in the area or what led to the Land Cruiser colliding with him.

Emergency services responded to the scene, where the driver was reportedly declared dead.

The identity of the deceased has not yet been released.

The Dry Port exit connects with the N4, one of the key freight corridors between South Africa and Mozambique, and the area regularly carries heavy volumes of truck traffic.

Further details, including the circumstances leading up to the collision and whether any other people were injured, are still being established.
