At 16h27 on Wednesday afternoon Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a head-on collision on the N3 about thirty Kilometres past Warden in the Free State. Exact detail to the cause of the crash will form part of the South African Police investigation.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the accident debris and the crumpled frames of the vehicles consistent with a high impact collision spread over a large area. After examining the injured it was found that the bakkie driver had died on impact, the driver of the truck sustained minor injuries.
Medics treated the man at the scene before they transported him to a hospital in Frankfort for the care that he required.
