Durban – Ten people have been injured following a multi-vehicle pile-up accident on the N3 freeway eastbound just after Pavilion Mall below the Spine Road bridge, Durban on Monday night.
Life Response paramedics responded to reports of a serious collision on N3 under Spine road bridge shortly after 19h00.
Paramedics said that on arrival they found 3 trucks and 7 cars were involved in a serious accident.
There were 10 patients injured in the accident.
5 of the patients needed advanced life support interventions and 1 patient was placed on a manual ventilator.
All the patients were transported to various hospitals.
No fatalities were reported on the scene.
By 22h00 traffic was still heavily affected as the salvage operation was underway.
