A shocking video doing the rounds on social media shows the moments leading up to a head-on crash allegedly caused by a drunk driver on the R56 in Umzimkhulu, KwaZulu-Natal.
In the footage, filmed by a motorist following behind, a vehicle can be seen swerving wildly across the road, drifting from left to right, repeatedly crossing over the centre line.
The driver appears completely out of control, and it becomes clear something is very wrong.
Eventually, the vehicle veers fully into the oncoming lane and stays there for an extended stretch, even as other cars approach from the opposite direction.
Tragically, an approaching vehicle seems unaware of the danger until it’s too late, resulting in a violent head-on collision.
It’s not yet clear if there were any serious injuries or fatalities – no official information was immediately available at the time of publishing.
