Watch: Bodies of Missing Police Officers Recovered in Hennops River, Centurion

Two bodies believed to be two of the three missing police officers have been recovered from the Hennops River in Centurion, Gauteng.

The officers, attached to the Free State Crime Intelligence Unit, were travelling from the Free State to Polokwane for a deployment when they disappeared without a trace.

They were last seen in the early hours of Wednesday, 23 April 2025, driving a white VW Polo.

Intensive search efforts were launched immediately after their disappearance was reported, with SAPS Search and Rescue teams scouring the area using boats, divers, and drones.

Over the weekend, a submerged vehicle was spotted in the river, raising hopes that it might offer answers.

However, it was later confirmed that the vehicle was not the white VW Polo the officers were travelling in.

Despite this setback, two bodies were recovered from the river on Monday.

Authorities have confirmed their identities as the two female constables from the missing trio.

The female officer who was travelling with them remains missing, and the search continues along the riverbanks and surrounding areas.

The police have assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway. More updates will be shared as information becomes available.
