TZANEEN | A refrigerated truck loaded with frozen chicken was looted in broad daylight on Saturday morning at Claude Wheatley Street, near the Letaba TVET College four-way intersection (commonly known as the CTM four-way) in Tzaneen Cbd.
The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. after the truck reportedly broke down while en route to deliver chicken to outlets in the Tzaneen CBD and surrounding areas.
Within minutes, opportunistic looters descended on the vehicle. Eyewitnesses claim the looting lasted no more than 10 minutes, with dozens of people seen running away carrying boxes of frozen goods — believed to be chicken — from the back of the truck.
