A bus conductor was tragically shot dead during a robbery at the Newtown Cross-border Bus Rank in Johannesburg on Wednesday morning.
The gruesome crime took place in what witnesses described as a “brazen attack” by three armed suspects.
According to preliminary reports, the conductor was accosted by the robbers while attending to his duties on the bus.
The assailants robbed him of the money he had collected from passengers before fatally shooting him.
To make matters worse, they then set the bus on fire before fleeing the scene.

Emergency services arrived shortly after the incident, but it was too late to save the conductor.
Firefighters worked quickly to extinguish the flames, but the bus was completely gutted by the blaze.
