A heart-stopping dashcam video that has been making the rounds online shows a motorist narrowly avoiding a head-on collision with an illegally overtaking truck in Namibia’s Vergenoeg area on the morning of 6 August.
The incident, which occurred en route to Swakopmund, captured the truck recklessly driving in the oncoming lane, reportedly attempting to overtake three vehicles despite a solid continuous line prohibiting such a move.
The recording car driver swerves to the left sholder of the road to avoid imminent collision.
To make matters worse, the recording car was speeding at a dangerous 139 km/h in the dim pre-dawn light, shortly before 06:00.
Had the vehicles collided, the consequences would have likely been fatal.
This harrowing footage serves as a stark reminder of the deadly risks of reckless driving, particularly in challenging road conditions.
