Two people have been killed in a freak accident on the N3 just before Ashburton bridge when a container fell off a truck and landed onto a loaded minibus taxi on Wednesday 23 December 2020.
Paramedics have treated 12 patients, 4 of them seriously injured and 8 with minor injuries.
The N3 highway has been closed to allow paramedics to attend the injured.
The N3 closure happens less than 24 hours after another fatal truck and bus accident caused it to be closed at Van Reenens Pass yesterday.
