Watch: Dashcam captures SUV make dangerous turn before being hit by a truck on N3

Dashcam footage has emerged of an accident involving a truck and an SUV on the N3 north at Montrose in the Free State on Friday afternoon.

In the video, captured from the truck’s dashboard camera, the SUV can be seen slowing down in the fast while the truck approaches from the slow lane.

Just as the truck is about to overtake on the left side, the SUV turns left in front of the truck.

The truck driver has no time to avoid the accident, he hits the SUV and sends it spinning.

Judging from the impact of the collision, the trucker had reduced speed otherwise the damage could have been massive.

According to Free State EMS, one person was seriously injured and another sustained moderate injuries, they were both stabilised and transferred to hospital.

The trucker was shocked but not injured in the crash.
