#vulapresident protest

#VulaPresident – Dj Tira, Zakwe, and many other Durban artists have blocked off the N3 highway near the Spaghetti Junction this afternoon, Wednesday 02 September. They are demanding that lockdown regulations on concerts be amended to permit more than 50 people.

The disgruntled Durban artists dubbed their protest the #VulaPresident

Currently, under Level 2 lockdown, theatres, concerts, and live performances are subject to a limitation of 50 people or less.

In a social media live broadcast – local artist DJ Sox says they want at least 70 percent capacity at live events.

Clad in black, scores of entertainers have blocked both north and southbound lanes and are staging a picket.

They’ve also erected a stage.

The artist goes on to say that they have expenses such as school fees, car settlements and bonds on their homes.
