A Durban truck driver tragically lost his life when his truck collided with another on the N3 Northbound just after Market Road in Pietermaritzburg on Tuesday night.
According to ALS Paramedics, the accident occurred around 20:00 and involved three trucks.
The incident unfolded when a container truck rear-ended a tautliner truck, immediately igniting and trapping the driver inside.
Despite efforts by the Pietermaritzburg Fire Department, the flames consumed the truck, and the driver was unable to escape.
His body was recovered only after the fire was extinguished.

The driver was working for a company based in Durban.
