Watch: Groblersbrug Border Post Operations Suspended Due to Flooding

Groblersbrug Border Post has been temporarily closed due to severe flooding caused by the rain-swollen Limpopo River.

The Border Management Authority (BMA) confirmed that rising water levels have reached the control area, making operations impossible.

According to a notice issued by BMA Groblersbrug, border officials, in agreement with their counterparts at Martin’s Drift on the Botswana side, have decided to suspend all operations until further notice.

Cross-border truckers heading towards Zambia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo have been advised to reroute via alternative SA-Botswana crossings at Kopfontein and Skilpadshek.

Authorities will continue monitoring the situation, with operations expected to resume once water levels subside if no damage has been caused to infrastructure.

Further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
