Watch: N1 Closed at Hex River Pass After Beer Truck Overturns

The N1 has been closed at the Hex River Pass just before De Doorns following an early morning truck crash that left the roadway completely blocked.

An articulated truck transporting beer lost control on a curve and overturned, spilling its cargo across the road.

Video footage sent to SA Trucker shows the wreckage lying across the roadway, with crates of beer scattered around the scene.

The truck driver sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital, while his passenger escaped unharmed.

Emergency services and recovery crews are currently working to clear the site, but authorities have warned that the process will take some time due to the extent of the damage and the scattered cargo.
