The N3 north is completely blocked just after the Tweedie off-ramp in Howick after huge trees fell onto the freeway on Thursday afternoon.
This follows heavy rainfall in the area and around the KwaZulu-Natal province.
Videos of the storm which hit the area earlier are trending on social media. The violent storm led to big trees next to the squatter camp just after the Tweedie off-ramp to fall onto the roadway.
