The N3 northbound has been completely shut down at Van Reenen pass following a crash involving an abnormal load truck on Wednesday morning, 15 January 2025.
Footage shared with SA Trucker shows a truck transporting a transformer overturned on its side, blocking both lanes of the pass.
Authorities are currently on-site investigating the cause of the crash, which remains unknown.
To manage the disruption, contraflow traffic has been implemented on the southbound lanes.
Motorists are urged to approach the area with caution and expect delays. Further updates will follow as the situation develops.
