Watch: New Video Shows How Close Swerving Truck Came to Disaster on the N3

A newly surfaced video has revealed the tense moments before a truck driver suffered a medical emergency on the N3 near Cliffdale, with the heavy vehicle seen drifting across the freeway as concerned motorists watched on.

The footage was shared on Facebook by eyewitness Scott Taylor Peek, who said he and others had already realised something was seriously wrong before they started recording.

According to Peek, the truck had struck the concrete barrier moments earlier and appeared close to overturning.

“Before we started recording, he hit the concrete barrier on the right, looked like he was gonna flip but managed to control it. We phoned N3 traffic immediately.”

The video shows the truck continuing to move erratically before eventually slowing to a stop, while motorists keep their distance and alert authorities.

The update comes after SA Trucker earlier reported that a traffic officer noticed the truck weaving across the N3 before safely stopping it. Emergency services later confirmed the 37-year-old driver had suffered a seizure and was transported to hospital after being stabilised at the scene.

The eyewitness footage offers a different perspective on the incident, showing just how unpredictable the truck’s movements were before it came to a halt. It also highlights the quick thinking of motorists who alerted authorities and helped warn other road users of the danger ahead.
