Pretoria- Townships in Pretoria are burning as residents take to the streets to protest the announcement that mayor Kgosientso Ramokgopa would be replaced by Thoko Didiza in the upcoming elections.

The entrance to Atteridgeville from WF Nkomo road has been blocked with burning tyres and rocks.
A source in Atteridgeville has told News24 that residents want Ramokgopa as mayor.

“They want Sputla as mayor. Church and Acridian Streets are burning,” said the source.
