A shocking dashcam video has emerged on social media showing just how reckless some truckers can be on our roads.
The incident happened on the R555 between Orgies and Delmas on Wednesday 07 May 2025.
Footage from the dashcam captures a heart-stopping moment where a truck driver dangerously overtakes on a double solid line — right behind another side tipper.
In the clip, the driver pulls out to overtake both a car and the truck ahead on a stretch clearly marked with double continuous lines — a serious no-no for any driver, let alone one hauling a massive rig.
The trucker appears impatient, ignoring the rules and the obvious risk to life, cargo, and equipment.
Fortunately, there are no oncoming vehicles, but even so, he swerves back into the left lane without checking his mirrors — clipping the other truck in the process.
With nowhere to go, the innocent trucker is forced off the road, crashing into the bush alongside.
What’s even more jaw-dropping is the reckless driver’s delayed reaction.
He doesn’t stop or even slow down right away. Only a few seconds later does he casually glance into his left mirror — seemingly realising for the first time that the other truck has gone off-road.

SA Trucker calls this what it is: pure madness.
There’s no excuse for this kind of stunt. Not only did the driver break the law, but he also put lives at risk and likely destroyed a fellow trucker’s load and livelihood.
This incident shows why dashcams are a must-have — they expose the rot and help hold the guilty accountable.
