WATCH: Shocking Video Shows ‘Police’ Stopping Cash Van Before Robbing Guards at Gunpoint

A disturbing video is circulating on social media showing a group of uniformed officials stopping a cash-in-transit (CIT) van, only for armed robbers to swoop in moments later and hijack the vehicle.

The in-cab footage captures the tense moment as three National Traffic Police officers and a SAPS official armed with a rifle stop the cash van on a highway. The two guards comply, opening their doors to speak with the officers. The officials demand permits, including the guards’ PSIRA registration and firearm certificates. The guards explain they don’t always carry their PSIRA cards and that firearm details are recorded in a book.

Midway through the exchange, two armed suspects suddenly appear on both sides of the van. The uniformed officers do not react as the robbers swiftly disarm the guards. The scene unfolds as if the suspects were merely waiting for the right moment. The guards are force-marched to the back of the van before one of the hijackers jumps into the driver’s seat and speeds off with the vehicle.

It remains unclear whether the uniformed individuals were legitimate law enforcement officers or criminals disguised as police. Authorities have yet to confirm details or issue a statement.
