CCTV footage of a serious rear-end crash involving two heavy trucks in Ndundulu on Thursday has left viewers in shock and raising concerns about road safety in the area.
The dramatic incident, caught on video, shows a truck towing a triaxle flatbed slowing down, seemingly about to make a right turn. It’s unclear from the footage whether the driver had activated the indicator, but just moments later, another truck towing a fully loaded side tipper interlink comes charging in from behind and slams into the slowing vehicle.
The force of the impact was so powerful that the front truck was pushed off the road, crashing straight into a nearby building. Debris from the flattened structure and the damaged trucks was scattered across the scene.

Bystanders can be seen rushing to the wreckage moments after the crash, with some trying to get a glimpse of the drivers’ condition. At this stage, there is no official word on whether the drivers sustained injuries or the extent thereof.
This incident once again highlights the dangers of following too closely, especially with heavy vehicles. With massive stopping distances and limited manoeuvrability, even a moment’s lapse can end in disaster.
